The Pacific Resident Theatre Youth Conservatory strives to inspire young people to discover and express their artistic voices through the study of theatre. The mission of the Conservatory is an extension of Pacific Resident Theatre’s overall commitment to instilling an appreciation for literacy and humanity in our audience and the audiences of the future.
The PRT Youth Conservatory offers free classes to the youth of our community, as well as youth across Los Angeles.
We believe that the study of theatre, and the related crafts of acting, directing, dramatic writing, and design, will give young people tools that will empower them to tell stories that can change their lives and impact the world.

In Development: Shakespeare, Inc. (Youth Initiative)
Pacific Resident Theatre is currently seeking support to expand its youth programming through a remount of Shakespeare, Inc., an interactive “Choose Your Own Adventure” theatrical experience first developed at PRT in 2024.
This proposed initiative is designed to introduce students to Shakespeare’s 36 plays through an accessible, participatory format that encourages creative decision-making and storytelling.
The program aims to include:
• Free weekday matinee performances for school groups
• Study guides for educators exploring adaptation and storytelling
• Post-show discussions and interactive learning opportunities
Additional public performances at accessible price points are planned to support long-term sustainability.
This program is currently in development pending funding and partnerships.
