Gaslight

Set in foggy 1880’s London, GASLIGHT is a Victorian Thriller, the story of a husband and a wife in conflict over reality and truth.

In this gripping psychological mystery piece, a seemingly perfect marriage becomes a maze of manipulation, suspense and surprises. An entertaining, timely, and insightful study of the distortion of truth and how reality can be quietely undermined.

This classic Victorian masterwork is the play that originated the term so often used today, “gaslighting.”

Tania Getty (Mrs. Manningham) PRT includes: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Women in Jeopardy!, All My Sons, A Bintel Brief, Cigarettes and Chocolate, The Cherry Orchard, Skylight, Closer, Orpheus Descending, Alice Sit-By-The-Fire, Pygmalion, and Fata Morgana. She studied Dramatic Theory at the University of Arizona in Dramatic Theatre and is also a member of the New America Theatre where she studies with Jack Stehlin. A long time member of PRT, Tania is also a board member of both PRT and the Invisible Theatre in Tucson. Jaxon Duff Gwillim

Jaxon Duff Gwillim (Mr. Manningham). Jaxon was born in NYC and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, when it was located in Pasadena, CA. He joined Pacific Resident Theatre in 1997 working first in two of Shaw’s plays Mrs. Warren’s Profession and Candida both directed by Michael Rothhaar. Some of his other PRT shows include Divorcons, where he met his wife fellow PRT Member Jennifer Taub, Death of a Salesman and Cigarettes and Chocolates. His other CA theatre credits include, playing the lead in two of Ray Cooney ‘s farces There Goes The Bride (Sierra Rep) and Funny Money (Norris Theatre), A Chorus of Disapproval (Odyssey Theatre), the award winning The Caretaker by Harold Pinter (Zephyr theatre) with Robert Mandan, Twelfth Night (Theatre 40), ADA nominated Red Noses (Theatre Banshee), The Country Wife (Hayworth Theatre) and Rogue Machine’s inaugural production of Compleat Female Stage Beauty. He has performed in NYC, Toronto, Simsbury, Stanford, Baltimore and Pittsburgh, in the Pre- Broadway Tour of MacBeth starring Christopher Plummer and Glenda Jackson, Noel Coward’s Present Laughter, Another Antigone and On Borrowed Time with his father Jack Gwillim. Recently he appeared in two Podcasts with his son Harry, Greetings from Salton Sea and The Signal. Thank you to the cast and crew of this show and especially to Tania and Michael. Miranda Wynne (Nancy) was born and raised in Los Angeles and received her B.A. in Theatre from UC, San Diego. She’s thrilled to be returning to PRT after playing Nina in last year’s Vanya Sonia Masha and Spike and Mrs. Swanson in Middletown. Some of her favorite credits include: Rotterdam (Kirk Douglas/Skylight theatre) for which she received nominations for Best Lead Performance from the LADCC, Stage Raw and Broadway World, Punk Rock (Odyssey Theatre), Three Sisters (La Jolla Playhouse), Oppenheimer (Rogue Machine Theatre), We are Proud to Present…(Third Culture Theatre), Earthquakes in London (Rogue Machine Theatre) and Little Shop of Horrors (The B Productions). @mirandamwynne

Rita Obermeyer

Rita Obermeyer (Elizabeth) is thrilled to be acting in Gaslight working with this talented cast. Rita worked as a model in the states and Europe and has graced the covers of many fashion magazines. During this time she worked honing her craft as a commercial actress and has 40 plus under her belt, one of which is the tree hugging grandma in the Subaru Outback commercial. Rita’s first love is acting, but singing is another and she created PRT’s concert space in 705 and brings in some of her favorite artists for shows. Rita has written a screenplay and is in the process of pitching it, when she has time and is editing a short that she wrote, directed and acted in last year called “The Home for Fictional Characters.” My mother always told me, “You can do anything you put your mind to”.
