Christian Barillas’ most recent theatre credits include the world premiere of Octavio Solis’ Lydia at Denver Center (Henry Award), and later at Yale Repertory Theatre. In 2010, Christian will be a member of the acting company at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, performing in Twelfth Night and Pride and Prejudice, among others. Other regional credits include Sonia Flew at Laguna Playhouse (West Coast premiere), Cornerstone’s As You Like It at Pasadena Playhouse, Center Theatre Group’s A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings at the Kirk Douglas Theatre (West Coast premiere), A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Othello at Theatricum Botanicum. Los Angeles highlights include Vieux Carré (Writer) at the Ivy Substation, The Tempest (Ferdinand), The Beaux Stratagem (Archer) and True Love (West Coast Premiere). At Pacific Resident Theatre, Christian played the title role in Anatol and originated The Contest, which subsequently played in Scotland’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Christian was part of the original workshop for Lydia at Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival and, at South Coast Repertory, he participated in workshops for The Italian Straw Hat and Nilo Cruz’s world premiere adaptation of Life Is A Dream. Film and television credits include Sabotage, The Appointment and ’Til Parole Do Us Part, as well as Without a Trace, Passions, The Playbook for Spike TV and as a series regular on the pilot I See You. He attended the University of North Carolina, and received his MFA from UCLA where he was the recipient of the George Burns Fellowship in Comedy.
