Co-Op Updates – May 2009

The Changing of the Guard: For the past twenty years, Bill Lithgow has designed and printed the programs for all the mainstage and ninety percent of the co-op shows. He’s just passed the mantle to Tom Beyer.

Terry Davis, our space booker, wants to bring us up to date on co-op performance dates. GAPS will play in 705 (because it will be available) from May 28th to June 14th. As we’ve noted before in this space, nobody has booked the June 25th to July 12th performance slot.

Members: In the upcoming AFTRA election for the National Board, Kevin Kilner recommends the AFTRA Leadership Team. Composed of Bobbie Bates. Susan Boyd Joyce, Scott Caldwell, Gabrielle Carteris, Milo Edwards, Jay Gerber, D.W. Moffett, Ron Morgan, Paul Petersen, Jason Priestley, and Sally Stevens the AFTRA Leadership Team is “a diverse mix of independents, Unite for Strength members, incumbents, and new members all coming together to protect and advance our wages and working conditions,” says Kevin. For the local board and for delegates who will represent us at the AFTRA convention, Kevin strongly suggests voting only for candidates that have been endorsed by the nominating committee. (“Nom com candidates.”) Finally, Kevin tells us that there are 109 candidates running for 106 delegate slots. “So be sure to limit your votes to 106,” Kevin warns.

The tree comes out once a week. If you want a notice in the tree, send it to me at the e mail address below or at richardfancy@gmail.com . If it gets to me by 3PM on Sunday, it will appear in the next tree. I edit all notices in the tree (I take out exclamation points, capital letters and underlining used for emphasis. I also take out value judgements and, since conciseness is a value for busy people, I often shorten items. If you note a mistake, please let me know and I will correct it.
